Cherie LaCour was born and grew up in Duncanville, Texas. After graduating from Duncanville High School with honors in 1986, she attended The University of Texas at Arlington, and obtained a degree in Political Science with a Pre-law/Paralegal minor. Cherie then worked as an editor for a publishing company, gaining valuable experience in paying attention to detail. Cherie attended the University of Tulsa law school and obtained her juris doctor in 1997. While in law school Cherie focused on dispute resolution and negotiation, and even worked for a District Court judge, assisting parties in mediating their disputes. At TU, Cherie was Managing Editor of the Tulsa Journal of Comparative & International Law publication. Cherie became drawn to using the law as a tool to help people with injuries when she worked as a law clerk for a plaintiffs' personal injury litigation firm in Dallas during the summers while in law school. Cherie met her husband Allen Giles in law school. After graduating, they chose New Mexico to call home, because they enjoyed the beauty of New Mexico's great outdoors. |
Since 1997, Cherie has dedicated her law practice to helping people and families who are injured by hospitals, doctors and corporations. Cherie is licensed to practice law in the State of New Mexico, and practices in county, state districts and U.S. (Federal) District court. Cherie belongs to the following organizations: |
Cherie has family in Texas, Louisiana and New Mexico. She lives in Albuquerque with her husband and daughter. When she is not litigating, Cherie enjoys reading and cooking. |
