Lori M. Bencoe was born in Albuquerque in 1967. She is a second-generation native New Mexican. After graduating from Del Norte High School in 1985, Lori attended the University of Arizona in Tucson on a music performance scholarship. Lori majored in communications and minored in music performance, served as a member of phi beta kappa and Mortar Board, and graduated magna cum laude and with honors. Lori obtained her law degree from the University of New Mexico in 1993. At UNM, Lori was a member of the UNM Law Review publication, and focused on courses emphasizing civil procedure and litigation. Lori has dedicated her entire legal career to helping people who are injured by the carelessness of others. During school, Lori took various jobs with personal injury firms to learn about the legal process and the effect it had on everyone involved. Since she became licensed in 1993, Lori has worked as a lawyer to obtain justice for people and families who suffer serious injuries or losses caused by carelessness, neglect or greed of companies and those in positions of power. |
Lori is licensed to practice law in the State of New Mexico, and practices in county, state districts and U.S. (Federal) District court. Lori is a member of the following organizations: |
Lori has taught continuing legal education courses for the National Business Institute, the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association and the New Mexico State Bar's Paralegal Division. Lori has also attended advanced trial advocacy training courses offered by the American Association for Justice, and has audited nursing courses at CNM (formerly TV-I). Lori and her husband Dave have been married since 1991, and have one son together. When she is not litigating, Lori enjoys gardening, cooking, movies and attending her son's sporting activities. |
