Maggie Golike, New Mexico Paralegal
Margo J. “Maggie” Golike
Paralegal
Maggie Golike is a New Mexico paralegal at Bencoe & LaCour Law, PC, where she supports clients, attorneys and staff throughout the life of a case. She joined the firm in 2012 after seven years of paralegal work in Albuquerque and brings extensive administrative, organizational and client-service experience to the team.
Maggie graduated from The University of Albuquerque in 1984 with a BS in Criminal Justice and Corrections, originally planning to work with at-risk youth. Before entering the legal field, she held several positions with Philips Semiconductors for nearly twenty years and worked as the administrative assistant for the sales team at Grubb & Ellis Real Estate. Those roles helped her develop the organizational skills, adaptability and attention to people that she now brings to the firm.
Supporting Clients and the Legal Team
At Bencoe & LaCour, Maggie helps keep matters moving from new-client intake through motion hearings and jury trials. Her role is rooted in organization, follow-through and communication. She supports the legal team as case needs change and helps make sure important day-to-day details do not get lost during demanding litigation.
Clients often come to a law firm while coping with injury, loss or uncertainty. Maggie approaches those interactions with patience and empathy. Her long history with Bencoe & LaCour gives her a broad understanding of how attorneys, staff and clients work together during complex cases. Colleagues regard her as the firm’s “office mom” and the “glue” that helps hold the team together.
Maggie supports the team serving clients in the firm’s medical malpractice, wrongful death, birth injury and serious personal injury matters. While the attorneys lead legal strategy and advocacy, she helps maintain the practical coordination and personal attention that clients rely on throughout the process.
Her experience across administrative, corporate and legal settings allows her to respond calmly when schedules shift, documents need attention or a case moves toward a hearing or trial. Maggie understands that strong client service is built through reliability, careful listening and respect for what each family is experiencing. That steady presence is an important part of the team’s collaborative approach.
Why Her Role Matters
Complex civil cases involve many moving parts, and clients benefit from a team that stays organized and responsive. Maggie helps create that continuity by supporting communication, preparation and the practical work surrounding each matter. Her familiarity with the firm’s approach allows her to anticipate routine needs and help the team remain focused as a case develops.
For clients, having a familiar and compassionate point of contact can make an unfamiliar process feel more manageable. Maggie Golike values the trust clients place in Bencoe & LaCour and treats their questions and concerns with care. Her work supports the firm’s commitment to thorough preparation, personal attention and accountability for people and families throughout New Mexico.
Community Service and Personal Interests
A natural helper with a huge heart, Maggie has volunteered with The American Red Cross Disaster Relief Services and dedicated her leadership skills to helping organize the Rio Grande Down Syndrome Network’s annual Buddy Walk. Her community service reflects the same compassion and willingness to help that she brings to clients and colleagues at the firm.
Maggie has multiple furry family members, including Molly, a former therapy dog she loved taking to visit residents in assisted living and nursing homes. Whether supporting a client, helping the legal team prepare for the next stage of a case or serving her community, Maggie brings warmth, consistency and a practical sense of care to the people around her. Her work helps strengthen the client experience from first contact through the conclusion of a matter.
